WORKED GREAT FOR ME. I NEEDED TO SEE WHAT ADDRESSES WE HAD THAT WERE FREE, AND WAS ABLE TO DO SO QUICKLY, WITHOUT HAVING TO GO TO EACH MACHINE.

I like that you can scan a specific range, and it scans fairly quickly. Click 'Skip' upon first use. It doesn't pick up MAC addresses for some subnets and I don't know why. I have yet to intentionally generate an IP conflict to see how it reacts. I like the export capability, but it's only to .txt format and not .csv format. An options.ini file is automatically generated when closing ipscan.exe, regardless of any use or changes.

If I remember correctly I tried downloading this program and the license was different then the website. Today after getting your reminder email I tried downloading from a different server and said nothing about the license but as soon as I click save and choose location I get a malware warning and I choose to clean it.

The first download failed on me. The second did not
Apart from that the scanner loaded without drama and worked perfectly giving me most of the data I required.
Is there a Mac version?

This program is just a toy. Not very useful, doesn't recognize anything except Windows hosts. The user interfase is not friendly and lacks a lot of features.

I tried to use IP Scanner couple days ago and.quiet impresive, but maybe if you add wifi scanner also, it will be much better.

I use the scanner the scanner finend threat and can do nothing. I look for a scanner how can take away the skit the scanner find.
I have a problem maybe you can help me to delet a treat I have in my cmputer.

I'm Ignacio. I probed the software, for one lab in training. It's let me discover all IP's in my subnet.

In the past, I used IP hungry is similar, then I think Ip Scanner 1.6 is more faster than IP hungry.

This little program does what it says in the product description. I had forgotton the ip address of serveral old routers on my network that were being used as switches. It found these OK. Good utility program. Needs no installation (Runs from the exe).

The ipscanner worked pretty well, it was able to scan a large subnet rapidly and while it is a basic software package it has some helpful functionality.

Its good but only even ips that are alive or has different operating systems or ips that are bind by firewalls are not shown and it show sometime the mac and sometime does'nt..I think it need more real network studies and need more improvment..or else easy but not suffiecient..

About ip scanner.

This software is great but till now I haven't found any pc with an open port. Any way this software needs to hack the ip idress to be a perfect software. So please if you can addd some port scan or something like the sub7 options to this software it will be so wonderfull so we will have a scanner with hacking abilities.

Ip Scan was good but It showed me some computers' names in funny characters, which I couldn't access. But in general it is good and it needs more improvements.

Little valuable thing

I cannot give very detailed review, because I have only used IP Scanner for a short time. I had a proble being not sure which Ip adresses in our LAN are occupied (bad paperwork, i know). Free IP scanner was first free tool what I found with google search, I dowlnloaded it and my problem was solved in less than 5 minutes.
it's easy to use, small, doesnot need installation. I'm happy with it..

Excellent IP Identifier

Excellent for identifying unknown IPs. Did exactly what I needed it to do. Had a camera with an unknown IP and could not connect to camera. Fortunately, the camera was on the same subnet and was in the range of IPs scanned by Free IP Scanner.

Great little program

I've always wondered why I can't find the IP addresses of the computers on my network without walking around to them all. Now I can!

I have a couple of small devices that sit on the network and I need to be able to find them so that I can address them correctly. Using this program I can find out where the DHCP landed them.

Free IP Scanner Review

Free IP scanner is OK, very similar to netscan and many others. Overall I would stick with Netscan as Free IP scanner has a long pause between end of scan and returning to main function. This gives the impression of a freeze, (quite annoying)

IP Scanner scores well overall.

The IP Scanner FreeWare is able to identify IP addresses that have been dynamically allocated, so that modifications to your network devices can be easily implemented.

The one weakness of IP Scanner is that, on my WLAN at least, it's unable to identify the MAC addresses of network devices other than PCs. The usergroup is not always identified either.

If you don't have a large number of devices on your LAN (WAP, printer servers, VoIP adapters, ethernet to wireless bridges, etc.) then this will certainly identify all IP addresses; if you only have a few IP addresses to search through then all is well.

I would appreciate a more robust ability to identify MAC addresses as these uniquely identify devices, which is not the case with dynamically allocated IP addresses. Better performance for identifying usergroups also would be welcome.

Port identification performance is very good.

On the whole, I can recommend this product although the developers still have some work to do. It is robust, easy to use and does not crash or terminate unusually. It's a very useful tool. I await future version releases.
